Telocyte states that it is developing telomerase therapy to treat and cure Alzheimer's disease, arguing that Alzheimer's should be addressed at its cause rather than its effects. The company says prior therapies focused on symptoms or on removing amyloid or tau, while its view is that cell aging triggers amyloid buildup and neuron loss, and that telomerase can reset the abnormal gene-expression pattern underlying the disease.
SourceTelocyte states that Alzheimer's should be cured by addressing its underlying cause rather than only treating symptoms or targeting amyloid or tau directly. The company argues that cell aging drives amyloid buildup and neuron loss in Alzheimer's disease, and that telomerase therapy can reset the abnormal gene-expression pattern associated with the disease, making it a path to both treatment and prevention.
SourceTelocyte states that Alzheimer’s should be cured rather than merely managed, and that the disease is driven by underlying cell aging rather than only downstream effects like amyloid or tau. The company says telomerase therapy can address this root cause by resetting abnormal gene expression associated with Alzheimer’s, with the goal of both treating existing patients and preventing future cases.
SourceTelocyte states that it is developing telomerase therapy to treat and cure Alzheimer's disease, arguing that prior approaches focused on symptoms or downstream effects such as amyloid and tau rather than underlying causes. The company asserts that cell aging drives both amyloid accumulation and neuron loss in Alzheimer's, and that telomerase can reset the abnormal gene-expression patterns involved in the disease, making prevention and cure possible.
SourceTelocyte states that it is developing telomerase therapy to cure and prevent Alzheimer's disease, based on the belief that prior approaches targeted symptoms or downstream effects rather than causes. The company argues that cell aging drives both amyloid accumulation and neuron loss in Alzheimer's, and that telomerase can reset the abnormal gene-expression pattern underlying the disease, making a true cure possible.
