Contact sorting sustains private adoption
Full text
This proposed mechanism asks whether the shape of a collaboration network can sustain private use of a cultural convention when people receive the same information and have the same number of contacts.
The test would rearrange links while holding group composition, feeds, expected interactions, contact degree, prevalence of convention A, and contact budget fixed. Degree-preserving swaps would create compact compatible clusters or fragmented ones with more boundaries. It would measure confidential A use and collaboration costs.
A compatibility adapter would make collaboration with A or B equally effective. If it erased a geometry effect, it would support clustered partners lowering collaboration costs. B retrieval, functional aids, or risk effects would favor rivals.
