Tests assess ancestry-gated retelling
Full text
This proposed hypothesis asks why a correction can be understood privately yet fail to enter a public retelling. An apparent majority may be a stale quorum: many accounts trace back to an earlier version.
The test would vary whether visible acknowledgments follow the correction or the earlier account, then compare causal-version labels with equally noticeable recency labels. If ancestry improves prediction beyond recency, reliability and shared knowledge, that would support a proposed commitment gate for public retelling.
