DNA repair enables autonomic recovery
Full text
For menopause symptoms, this proposed mechanism asks whether treatment order can determine lasting recovery of the body’s automatic control of heart and circulation.
It predicts that starting sleep rehabilitation and vasomotor suppression together, to curb hot flashes, first restores continuous sleep. Cells in autonomic tissues could then repair DNA damage. If disrupting that repair preserves better sleep yet blocks later recovery, and restoring repair restores it, the hypothesis gains support. Normal recovery despite verified persistent DNA damage would refute it.
