Full scientific poster: YAP synchrony widens suppression windows

Full text

This skin-repair hypothesis asks whether synchronising gene activation between cells can limit scars while preserving healing after repeated injury. Yes-associated protein, or YAP, regulates gene activity. Lower YAP can reduce scars, while too little impairs repair. Testing would vary the start of YAP suppression and timing variability in transcription, copying DNA instructions into RNA. It predicts less variability will widen the safe suppression range. If this persists after YAP is uncoupled from p73, a protein that may clear damaged scar-forming cells by programmed death, it would favour synchrony over a rival late-pulse mechanism. YAP activity and injury severity must match.
