Reabsorption reduces neighboring tubules’ oxygen
Full text
This kidney hypothesis asks whether shifting salt-recovery work between tiny tubules can drain a neighbour's oxygen reserve.
With oxygen delivery, temperature and vessel geometry matched, heavier work in one segment should lower oxygen in its nearby partner. Less work should restore its oxygen and function, supporting local competition.
