Full scientific poster: Matrix transfer tests stress memory

Full text

This proposed skin-repair hypothesis asks whether skin remembers the order of irritation and stretching after its measurable functions return to youthful ranges. The test would grow the extracellular matrix, the protein scaffold around cells, under each order. After cells and soluble signals are removed, identical fresh cells would be seeded onto both scaffolds and given one common challenge. If their responses follow the transferred scaffold, that would support a role for fibronectin, a scaffold protein whose shape and cell-binding sites may encode stress order. If responses instead follow the cells on fresh matrix, a cell-held mechanism would be favored. The test needs a defined quantitative response measure.
