Sleep rehabilitation restores inflammation resolution
Full text
This proposed hypothesis asks whether sleep rehabilitation in menopause must precede hot-flash treatment for automatic heart-rate and blood-pressure control to recover.
It proposes a biological gate: restored sleep first renews inflammation resolution, the process that ends an immune response. Autonomic recovery would improve only afterwards, even when sleep gains and hot-flash relief match other sequences.
The key causal test is in animals. Blocking the pathway while sleep still improves should erase the sleep-first advantage; restoring it should make the lead-in unnecessary. Human testing would combine lipid measurements, tests of immune cells clearing debris outside the body, sleep recordings and autonomic challenges.
