Matrix connectivity enables senescent-cell removal
Full text
This proposed hypothesis asks when removing temporarily senescent cells, repair cells that have stopped dividing, from healing skin might preserve its later strength. The idea is that early cells help pull and align fibres until the extracellular matrix, the tissue outside cells that carries force, becomes a continuous self-supporting network.
The test would shift fibre connections and briefly suppress actomyosin, the cell machinery that contracts. If the safe removal window shifts with matrix connectivity rather than elapsed time or wound closure, that would favour the structural mechanism over rival explanations.
