Full scientific poster: Micrografts target skin connection gaps

Full text

This proposed skin-repair hypothesis asks whether a few tiny grafts from a person's own skin can reconnect surviving tissue across a larger damaged skin region. The test is spatial. Identical micrografts, small transplants with the same composition and total volume, would be placed at mapped breaks between functioning areas, at random sites, or at damaged sites whose removal leaves the relevant network connected. The key measure is coordinated function across the mapped region, including ungrafted tissue. Recovery beyond the grafted patches after targeted placement would favor reconnection by surviving tissue. Improvement confined to grafted tissue or tied solely to total graft volume would weaken that mechanism. Similar regional outcomes across placements would leave the alternatives unresolved.
