Cure updates its tracker with eight longevity biotechnology funding deals from 2026
On September 1, eight funding events were added to the Cure page. The tracker presents investment rounds alongside non-dilutive funding, which consists of grants that do not require a company to give the funder an equity stake. It also identifies the next planned step for each program.
Cure counts investment rounds and non-dilutive funding as capital raised. The tracker reports potential partnership payments and royalties separately. This method places the $3 million raised by Reservoir Neuroscience and the $435 million raised by NewLimit on the same map, with the next program milestone specified for each amount.
In June, NewLimit closed a $435 million Series C. In its funding announcement, the company states that it is preparing its first drug for human testing in 2027. Its program temporarily changes gene activity in aged liver cells while preserving their specialized identity. The round will fund preparations for this first clinical step.
Life Biosciences raised $80 million in a Series D. In June, the first participant received ER-100, a gene therapy for optic nerve diseases. ER-100 uses partial epigenetic reprogramming, which aims to shift gene activity in a cell temporarily toward a younger state without changing the cell type. According to the company release, the funding will support completion of the first phase of the ER-100 trial, further development of the platform, and operations through the second half of 2027.
The tracker also includes non-dilutive funding awarded through PROSPR, a program run by the US agency ARPA-H. Nula Therapeutics reported funding of up to $20 million, plans to begin human testing of NLT-101 in the fourth quarter of 2026, and a separate program for assessing functional resilience. Cambrian Bio reported funding of up to $30.8 million to develop a drug that selectively inhibits mTORC1, a protein complex that responds to nutrients within cells.
The Cure map places the amount, funding type, and next stated action together. The eight deals support three kinds of work: preparations for a first clinical trial, continuation of a Phase 1 trial already underway, and early-stage research programs.
