Qureight raises $20 million to turn CT scans into measurements for drug trials

On July 29, UK company Qureight closed a $20 million Series B round led by Molten Ventures. The company will use the funding for an AI laboratory, a three-dimensional chest model, and models for asthma, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis, and drug-induced lung injury.

A standard chest CT gives a physician a set of images and a radiology report. Qureight uses the same scan to calculate the volume of fibrosis, inflammatory changes, airways, pulmonary vessels, and the lungs as a whole. These values serve as biomarkers, which are measurable indicators of lung health. A trial team can compare them across participants and track changes during treatment.

In drug trials, these measurements help characterize disease severity during participant enrollment and compare changes between treatment groups. Qureight already uses separate models for fibrosis, inflammatory changes, airways, and blood vessels.

In 2025, Qureight was due to be used in a Phase II trial of LTI-03 for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at 50 sites, according to Drug Discovery World. The company was expected to prepare the sites, process the scans, and analyze the data.

The new funding will support a general three-dimensional chest model. Qureight says this model will reduce the amount of new data and the time required to build a model for the next disease.

The funding will support the transfer of a single measurement approach across lung diseases. The process remains specific: a CT scan is converted into a numerical measurement, which the team uses for participant enrollment and trial analysis.
