VoxNeuro received FDA 510(k) clearance for its EEG analysis software, cfNI

On July 29, VoxNeuro announced FDA 510(k) K253015 clearance for cfNI. The software is intended for adults aged 18–70. After an assessment, it processes EEG and evoked potential data, then provides the clinician with a structured report. The company proposes using it at both initial and follow-up visits.

An electroencephalogram, or EEG, records the brain's electrical activity through electrodes placed on the scalp. An evoked potential is a segment of that recording that appears after a sound, image, or other task. During a repeat assessment, the person receives the same stimuli again, and the responses are recorded at the same timepoints.

cfNI processes the recording after the session and prepares a report for the clinician. The product is described on the VoxNeuro website as a prescription Class II software medical device. The initial recording provides a baseline when subsequent assessments follow the same protocol and produce reports in the same format.

Meaningful comparison requires a repeatable procedure. The clinic conducts each assessment in the same way, stores the results in a consistent format, and adds the report to the patient's medical record. VoxNeuro states that the assessment takes about 30 minutes and that the report includes documentation for existing reimbursement codes. This allows EEG recording and analysis to become part of routine follow-up visits instead of remaining a one-time procedure.

At subsequent visits, the clinician compares the same person's recordings with the baseline and interprets any differences within that person's clinical context. 510(k) K253015 establishes this regulated pathway for VoxNeuro's specific software.
