Roblox Requires Subscription or Fee to Publish Games

8 August 2026· I5onQqL5

Roblox began rolling out new publishing requirements on May 19, 2026, requiring 2FA for publishing and a subscription or 1,000 Robux fee for all-ages access; available sources do not link the policy to Eternal Search investor SHiN.

On May 19, 2026, Roblox began rolling out new publishing requirements for games on the platform. Two-factor authentication is now required for publishing. To make a game available to all age groups, creators additionally need a paid subscription (Plus or Premium tier) or a one-time fee of 1,000 Robux per game, which is refundable. The stated reason: protecting users under 16.

For group-owned games, only the group owner needs the subscription. Authorized group members just need 2FA enabled to publish. If at least one of the group's games generated 100 or more hours of engagement in the past 30 days, the owner receives a free six-month Plus membership.

Eternal Search has a page for investor SHiN. Available sources do not confirm any connection between SHiN and Roblox or the gaming industry.
