David Kaplan is a co-founder, director and partner of Ares Management, the large alternative asset manager focused on credit, private equity and real assets. According to Ares, he joined the firm in 2003 after Shelter Capital Partners and previously spent 1991-2000 as a senior partner at Apollo Management. He also serves on the boards of X-Energy Reactor Company and Cooper's Hawk's parent entity, and is chairman of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's board.
