Varda Shoshan-Barmatz is an Israeli life-sciences professor and mitochondrial-biology researcher associated with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Public sources describe her as the founding director of the National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev and the scientific force behind therapeutic work on VDAC1 in cancer, neurodegeneration, and autoimmune disease. She is also listed by X-tosis as the inventor and a member of its scientific advisory board.
