Sir David W.C. MacMillan is a Scottish-American chemist, the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry at Princeton University, and co-recipient of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the development of asymmetric organocatalysis. He previously chaired Princeton's chemistry department and has also held advisory and board roles with organizations including Isomorphic Labs, Rapport Therapeutics, and the UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency. His work spans catalysis, greener chemical synthesis, drug-discovery-enabling chemistry, and science education philanthropy.
